Provided by: Dogs in Canada, Dogs in Canada

Origin:

The Ragdoll is calm, quiet and affectionate. This breed can be trained easily, even to having him walk on a leash. He's not easily ruffled.

Height/Weight:

This large breed can take four years to reach maturity. Males may weigh from 15-20 lb (7-9 kg).

Ragdolls are born white and obtain full colour at about two years of age. There are four colour patterns: bicolour, colour-point, 'mitted' and lynx, with point colours in seal, chocolate, blue, lilac, red, tortie, cream and blue-cream. All Ragdolls have blue eyes with medium-to-long hair that's rabbit-like in texture. There's minimal shedding and matting due to the lack of undercoat.
