It's almost that time of year again when we rush and
scramble to find our favourite Halloween costumes and fall holiday decorations for our
homes.
This year's trends are perhaps less spooky and gory than previous years, and instead more fun and playful as we all strive to be glitzy and glam for Halloween. Celebrity costumes and decorating celebrity-style is at the peak of what's hot this year.
Remember that Halloween is not all about spooky eyes and dracula teeth. Going retro, disco and rockstar chic is just as acceptable and may even be more fun and uplifting for a change!
Decorate your home to suit the theme, put up a disco ball and bedazzle your pumpkins! In the passed few weeks I have come across many swanky and chic Halloween decorations. Pottery Barn was one of my favourites; I found silver pumpkins and fully bedazzled skulls. Putting a rock-star edge on this holiday can't be all that bad! The great thing about some of these decorations is that they can be used throughout the fall season and are not exclusive to the one holiday.
Here are some quick glam Halloween decorating tips:
1. Serve snacks and foods on inexpensive silver chargers and plastic silver platters.
2. Find silver and black napkins to continue the silver, grey and black theme.
3. Tie silver ribbons around your glasses or goblets.
4. Decorate your front porch with a disco ball, jewelled pumpkins and bedazzled skulls.
5. Glam up your ?typical' Halloween decorations by spray painting bones, spiders and other embellishments in silver.
Take that extra step to be bold and different this Halloween, you will certainly stand out from the neighborhood crowd and make quite a celebrity-style statement for Halloween 2009!
