  • My friends likes me...but I don't like him!? Help!?

    Singles & Dating - 5 hours ago

    Additional Details

Hey! :) Ok, my friend has a crush on me and he's constantly flirting with me. He's previously really really liked a good friend of mine (for a long time, too), and I'm just not comfortable with that fact. Also, I'm not sure if I would be attracted to him even if he had never liked my friend. He's really nice and I don't want to lose him as a friend...How do I make him see that his behavior is a little out of line, and how do I tell him that I don't like him? I don't want to be mean or break his heart or anything... Thanks!! :D He's told both a mutual friend and me that he likes me. =/

  • What to do for friend on anniversary of her father's death?

    Friends - 6 hours ago

    Additional Details

My best friend's father was murdered three years ago, and the anniversary of his death is coming up in the middle of November and I was trying to come up with some ideas as to what I could do for her and her family. I'm very close with them, but it's hard to think of something, given the situation. Does anyone have any ideas about what I could do? Thank you! WHOA. Some people are taking a nice gesture as something mean. There's a nice way to explain how you feel, making someone feel as if they're doing something bad, when only trying to help, isn't it. I in no way shape or form meant as a way to "celebrate" I simply only wanted ideas as to what I could do for her that day to get her mind off of it.
  • Im so confused about this guy. Please help!!!?

I posted questions on him before but... there is this guy whos a friend of mine. I like him and im not sure if he likes me back. We hungout before and he like paied for my little "date" or w/e and he was so nice. In school, he pokes me which is like a hi. Though, when it comes to facebook or something, he never writes to me. I have to be the first one starting a convo. We actually arent as close as we used to be. We barley talk anymore= / Before we couldnt wait to talk to each other. I did tell him about this, but he gives the same sorry all the time. Though, on wensday when i was in band, i decided to go with the flow and ignore him for a while cause it seems like he doesnt care about me like i care about him. So i ignored his poke. He like at the end of class kept looking at me a lot while practicing his instrument. Hes a senior by the way. Im a freshmen. I know that its like a diffrence but we connected quick before and idk.. =/ Its really upsetting to me because im so nice to him and i get nothing back. We talked yesterday but... it was like oh haha lmao lmao yeah yeah. And when he was about to sign off he said i got go "Later dude" ... On facebook he keeps putting these like love statuses like "Your beautiful in so many ways" or "your not alone ill always be with you" ... its interesting. I need advice about this because im sick and tired of always thinking about this... P.s. in school there are these girls that like him too. They are like in love with him and all are freshmen. So im guessing im not the only one that sort of connects with him... Though, i doubt he ever hungout with any of them in person alone...
  • What should I do about this girl?

    Singles & Dating - 6 hours ago

    Additional Details

She took pictures of the cross country team which is how I met her, and she came and ate dinner with some of the team including myself, and I sat by her. So I know her enough to say whats up in the halways etc but not really to ask her to hang out. Thing is I think shes cute and nice, and shes not too popular and shes kind of shy/quiet. Only thing is I cant get her off my mind even though nobody knows i feel this way and i only know her that well. So how can i get her off my mind or get to know her better? Do I ask her to the movies with a group or something? We have had a couple one-on-one conversations and the rest in a group for a short time. Also when is a couple considered "talking"? We are both 17 and seniors in high school
  • How do I stop myself from having sex?

    Singles & Dating - 6 hours ago

    Additional Details

whenever my boyfriend and i see each other, we have sex multiple times. if i tell him that i don't want to, he respects that, but it always seems like i'm the one asking for it. i don't know how to not want it so badly. whenever we're together, we're almost always alone at my house or at a hotel, so it's really hard not to, and i always end up doing it anyway. afterwards, i don't have any regrets, but i just wish i didn't give in that easily. does anyone have any advice?

What's my style? What isn't my style?!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of chatting with a design student who was looking for insight into the world of design. One of her questions to me was, 'What is your style?' - I get asked this a lot by clients, students, and media, so it certainly wasn't a new question. However, upon reflection I thought my answer would be worth exploring and expanding upon. I am sure that she (and perhaps you too) would have thought I'd say something predictable like modern, Zen, traditional, romantic or eclectic, and I could go on with others you know, such as French, vine culture and Goth, the list is virtually endless. But it's none of those. When it comes to my style, if I had only one word to sum it up, I would have to say 'unpredictable'.
  • I'm an equal opportunity designer - I love all styles and live with elements of each in my homes and always incorporate them into my clients' projects.
  • When designing a modern home I always include at least one antique piece - either art or furniture.
  • The architecture on my own home is ultra modern, I absolutely love modern design as it is timeless. Even in a more traditional environment an element or two of modern keeps the décor current.
  • Zen décor has a big place in my heart from all the time I've spent in Asia designing villas and luxury condos.
  • Who doesn't want more romance in their life? I aim to create an element of romance in my work and design rooms to seduce all who visit them- I want everyone who walks into my rooms to fall in love with them.
  • And of course there's eclectic, because who can stick to one style with all the fabulous options we have out there?
  • The bottom line is that it's okay to love more than one style of design, and I think it's most creative when you can bring those elements together into your home and surprise your family and friends with unexpected punches of design in each space.
  • Never be predictable!
  • Experiment with colour, furniture arrangements and innovative pieces that may not on the surface fit in with the rest of the design. -Add an accent colour that you've never seen used before.
  • Use objects and products in unexpected ways.
  • Don't follow the installation instructions on the back.
  • Use wallpaper to alter the look of a desk.
  • Switch the look of the pull chain on your side table lamp by replacing it with a beautiful vintage necklace.
  • Instead of potpourri, put scented feathers in a jar.

Don't be afraid to think outside of the box when it comes to décor, it is this manner of thinking that takes a space from good to great, from nice to wow.

The one goal I have when I am involved in a project, regardless of the scale of the space or the budget, is that when one walks into the room they are surprised by an element of unpredictability and great design. That's my style!
