  • My friends likes me...but I don't like him!? Help!?

    Singles & Dating - 5 hours ago

Hey! :) Ok, my friend has a crush on me and he's constantly flirting with me. He's previously really really liked a good friend of mine (for a long time, too), and I'm just not comfortable with that fact. Also, I'm not sure if I would be attracted to him even if he had never liked my friend. He's really nice and I don't want to lose him as a friend...How do I make him see that his behavior is a little out of line, and how do I tell him that I don't like him? I don't want to be mean or break his heart or anything... Thanks!! :D He's told both a mutual friend and me that he likes me. =/

  • What to do for friend on anniversary of her father's death?

    Friends - 5 hours ago

    Additional Details

My best friend's father was murdered three years ago, and the anniversary of his death is coming up in the middle of November and I was trying to come up with some ideas as to what I could do for her and her family. I'm very close with them, but it's hard to think of something, given the situation. Does anyone have any ideas about what I could do? Thank you! WHOA. Some people are taking a nice gesture as something mean. There's a nice way to explain how you feel, making someone feel as if they're doing something bad, when only trying to help, isn't it. I in no way shape or form meant as a way to "celebrate" I simply only wanted ideas as to what I could do for her that day to get her mind off of it.
  • How do I stop myself from having sex?

    Singles & Dating - 6 hours ago

    Additional Details

whenever my boyfriend and i see each other, we have sex multiple times. if i tell him that i don't want to, he respects that, but it always seems like i'm the one asking for it. i don't know how to not want it so badly. whenever we're together, we're almost always alone at my house or at a hotel, so it's really hard not to, and i always end up doing it anyway. afterwards, i don't have any regrets, but i just wish i didn't give in that easily. does anyone have any advice?

  • please help!! im sooo confused about this guy!!?

    Singles & Dating - 6 hours ago

    Additional Details

so my best guy friend who likes me alot and i like him back, but i wouldnt wanna date him cuz hes a player, and im kinda like the type that is waiting for a good guy whos trustworthy, and im 15, and havent a had a boyfriend yet cuz im picky and think i deserve better than alot of the guys tht go to my school, and he knows this. and his friends always tell me tht even tho he dates all the hoes, he likes me alot more and respects me more. but i know he doesnt want to date me for tht exact reason, cuz i respect myself too much (so he wont get sex from me is what im saying..) and so this weekend, he texted me after we were kinda fighting about how hes dating all these slutty girls and then lieing to me abnout not having a girlfriend when he does just so i'll go to the movies with him.and he texted: "i want u to know this, i do like u, i like u alot" and i was freaking out cuz he finally admitted to me that he liked me alot to my face, while he has a girlfreidn!!!!! wtf!!!! so what do u think is the reason he likes me so much but wont go out with me?! and do u think hes just keeping me aorund for rebound? and also we always give really close hugs, but recently hes been giving me these hugs where he like puts his arms really close aorund my lower waist by my butt (which he said was big last year and i got mad at him for saying tht lol, so understandable why he'd want to hug me near there). and normally, since hes tall with wide shoulders and a small waist and hips, and im short, i normally wrap my arms around hiss waist and his arms go around me when we hug. what do u think that means? he has a girlfriend, why cant he get those kind of hugs from her?!
  • Should I make my Mother suffer?

    Family - 6 hours ago

    Additional Details

I hate my Mother. She's not abusive or anything, but she doesn't understand me neither the rest of my family. I want to get revenge. I want to make her suffer because she wouldn't let me and my brother order food as there's nothing much left in the fridge. She thinks there's more food for us in the fridge, but we both don't agree with her. Another thing is she doesn't think I'm grown up enough to go to the doctor even though I'm trying so hard. I hate her so much. I will make her suffer by hurting myself. I hate her! I hate her! I hate her! How could I say that? Now I'm such a terrible person. It's just that I wish she appreciate me even more instead of saying that my drawing is okay. Then she is looking down on me. What should I do to make her even more happier?

Mirror, mirror on your walls!

Designers love mirrors! Not only do they reflect fabulous images, like a double image of an amazing room we have just created (you thought I was going to say an image of us, didn't you!?), they also add light and pattern - yes, I said pattern - into a space. Lately, I have been bringing patterns into my spaces with cut mirror panels as an alternative to wallpaper or wall tattoos.

Stove (Dvira Ovidia)I love creating a room that is reflected through a wall of mirror. In my modern spaces, I have been covering an entire wall (usually just one wall) with full length mirrored or 3x4 foot panels of beveled mirrors. Then on top of the panels, I glue wooden cutouts in the shape of circles of various sizes and width (you can use any shape you like). Prior to attaching the shapes with glue, I have them painted or finished with a metal leaf, generally gold or silver.

In the den of one of my ultra luxurious condominiums in Shanghai, which I just completed a few weeks ago, I covered a wall with a mirrored pattern made from 3x6 inch beveled pieces of antique mirror. The glass company supplied all the panels and then we glued them onto the wall in the desired pattern. In this case, the pattern was two stacked on their side next to two standing side by side. The result was spectacular.

In yet another space, I simply covered a dining room wall with 2x2 foot beveled panels. In the past, I have turned similar square panels onto their side and created a wall of mirrored diamonds. In my own home, I'm using mirrored mosaic (tiny broken pieces of mirror in conjunction with solid colors to form a pattern) to work next to mirrored walls in the dressing room. I love the mirrored mosaic so much that I just can't seem to get enough of it at the moment, so in addition to my own space, I am working with it in a client's ensuite and in a commercial fitness space. It is very versatile and well priced so I must share.

Mirrored walls in a room do more than just look great and bring light and pattern into a room. Mirrors allow us to play many useful tricks on the eye. For example, if you want the room to appear wider I would cover the wall with a series of vertical mirrored panels to create the illusion of a wider space. To highlight and heighten a room's ceiling height, a designer can employ patterned mirror on the ceiling. We can use mirrors for more than their reflective ability and good looks. Today, designers in the know use mirrors to add height, width and pattern to a space. For years, commercial designers have been employing these tricks and techniques with mirror but we have not used them as readily in our residential spaces...until now.

CHERYLL'S DESIGNER SECRET

Changing a light fixture is an affordable and effective way to update a room.

If you're changing your dining room chandelier, remember to cut and measure the chain so that the base of the fixture will hang at least 36 inches above the top of the table. A chandelier that hangs any lower may look cramped and actually interfere with conversations across the table.

Today, designers are not keeping chandeliers to just the dining room. Consider them for the living room above the coffee table, the kitchen island or even above the tub in your ensuite.
