If your home is in need of a makeover, get painting! A new colour palette can have a dramatic impact on the curb appeal of your home.
For exterior colours, I prefer darker shades. Head to your favorite paint store or DIY center and look through the exterior palettes brochures - most companies have done a really good job of pulling palettes together. When choosing colours, ponder and refine your palette over a week or so to make sure that you feel comfortable with your choice. Don't be afraid though to mix and match and if there are colours that cannot be changed, (such as roof shingles) bring along a matching sample to help you make that decision.
When I am pulling together an exterior house colour palette, I generally stick to a three- colour formula. The 60/30/10 rule works every time and makes colour coordinating easy.
Painting the exterior of your home is the perfect fall project. With some paint and elbow grease, you can complete an amazing transformation on your home!
