Question: Wednesday, April 03, 2002
I've received several tulip/hyacinthe plants over the winter and have been saving the bulbs in the original pots for planting outside. I know it's too early to put these into the ground, but would the bulbs be okay if I just stick the pots outside now? I've got limited space in my apartment and am anxious to get them outside....but I don't want to damage the bulbs after being so diligent with their preservation to this point.
Answer:
Put them in a well protected spot and keep them watered so that the leaves continue to build up the necessary nutrition for the bulbs.
