Question: Monday, October 30, 2000
I planted many gladiolus this year and they all came up with spots all over the leaves and the flowers. Do you have any idea why.
Answer:
This is due to a fungus spread by spashing water, wind, insects, tools. Most damage is done during mild, wet weather. Treat with a fungicide every 7 to 10 days, especially during humid conditions.Although unsightly it is not usually harmful. The fungicide will protect new foliage but will have not influence leaves already infected. Clean up and destroy any infected material.
