Question: Wednesday, July 19, 2000
I have two questions about hostas.
1. Is it too late in the season to shift hostas? I have a couple that need moving in preparation for future plantings this fall and think they will perform better in a new location.
2. Will you be carrying the following 3 hostas next season at all? White Christmas, Lakeside Black Satin and Lakeside Coal Miner?
Answer:
You can shift hostas at any time, however, transplanting and dividing is most easily and effectively carried out early in the season just as the "pips" begin to break the earth's surface.
We do not at present carry 'White Christmas', 'Lakeside Black Satin' or 'Lakeside Coal Miner' but check back with us again in the fall.
