Question: Friday, April 06, 2001
Chipmunks have set up housekeeping in my perrenial bed. There are tunnels under the soil in amongst the various plants. Will the tunnels do harm to the plants and do the chipmunks feed on the plant roots? If they are harmful to the plants what is a humain method to move them.
Answer:
I have never found too much of a problem with chipmunks, however, in the perennial bed their tunneling will disturb the roots of the plants. Try Ro-Pel an effective deterrent which stops animals frequenting your flower beds and lawns. Spread granules on the soil. Although not unpleasant to humans, the smell is extremely repulsive to these animals and ncourages them to leave the premises, without causing them physical harm.
