Annuals - Cedar Containers

Leaching

By Groundskeeper

Question: Monday, March 19, 2001

I am wondering if cedar containers will leach cedar oils and harm the plants growing in the container.Would lettuce, herbs or other salad greens be affected?

Answer:

I do not see a problem here, especially as the plants you are growing are annuals and will not remain in the containers very long.
