Judit Gueth

From Sweetspot.ca
Intelligent Design

We love our Ikea (Where else can we get $1.99 meatballs and a new desk?), but sometimes we like to think outside the Swedish big-box.

Our search for unique designs led us to Judit Gueth, a Toronto-based (and, ironically, Stockholm born) illustrator who creates distinctive wallpaper and rugs (with pillows to come!).

The Koi wallpaper ($120/roll) has us craving sushi and a chinoiserie-themed foyer. And we love the psychedelic take on damask in the Duchess print ($120/roll).

Our floors are lined with New Zealand wool and the graphic design on the Rococo rug ($750). (Our bare tootsies will feel as good as our karma - the rugs are hand-tufted by a Rugmark Foundation certified maker, a non-profit group aimed at ending child labour.)

And when word of our new find starts to spread (faster than gossip from the office holiday party), Judit will work with us to create our own custom print.

Our inspiration: Any pattern that will disguise those meatball stains.
