  • Sprained ankle pain - advice?

    Injuries - 17 hours ago

    Additional Details

Hi guys, I'm 99% sure that I sprained my ankle yesterday morning. It didn't notice the swelling until a little while later so I didn't 'RICE' it for about 4-5 hours after the injury. Although I didn't walk on it very much either. It was feeling okay all evening (I continued to use RICE) but now approx, 20 hours after the incident it feels just horrible. Does chronic pain tend to follow after a 1 to 2 mild sprain or should I be worried? Thanks :)
  • just got braces and i can't bite down!?

    Dental - 22 hours ago

    Additional Details

k i literally can't bite down at all no teeth make contact or come close. he put a metal attachment onto the inside of one of my top front teeth so that i wouldn't bite the brackets off. the problem is that i cannot eat anything at all. so i can only have liquids for half a year until my teeth touch...FUCK THAT!!!! and there is noway to get around it it's not like i can just eat soft foods because my teeth won't close it just hits the shelf and it hurts like hell. i can't chew with my front teeth because they're so tensed together, because of the braces, that if i just gently push down on one front tooth itll hurt every tooth in my mouth (cept the molars). also the shelf is only on one tooth and only makes contact with one tooth both of which are very very sensitive teeth. so all my bite power hits 1 tooth against metal and sometimes i forget about it and try to bit down fully which hurts like a mothaf%$ker. i also tend to knee myself in the chin alot (havnt yet so far) but if i hit my chin those teeth are gonna be knocked out like nothing. oh also when i say that i can't eat anything but liquids (drinking) this is not an exaggeration, i can't eat anything whatsoever.
  • How can I last longer from oral?

    Men's Health - 1 day ago

    Additional Details

I can last 30min+ for sex which is fine but I can normally last 5min from my fiance's mouth 10min if I'm lucky. Besides thinking of disgusting things, cause who wants to think about that when your girl is blo*ing you.
  • Ladies would you get your man a fleshlight (not flashlight)?

    Women's Health - 1 day ago

    Additional Details

For those of you who don't know what a fleshlight is google it. For a quick explanation it supposed to be a fake vagina toy for male masturbation. I'm thinking of getting my fiance one since I have some toys and he even got me one but he doesn't have any himself. There's quite a few different kinds of textures so I'm wondering what he would like the most for those of you who have one. I heard that there's some stigma for male toys like they're for losers or something but it's not a big deal for girls it seems. In fact an acquaintance of mine said that men's toys are disgusting. Wonder why this is?
  • Giving a vibe as a sexy gift?

    Women's Health - 1 day ago

    Additional Details

I got my fiance one of those rabbit vibes today from the local sex shop that's supposed to thrust, twist and has a clitoral vibrator. I 'm hoping that she'll like it or at least not hate it. Do you think it would have been better if I took her to the store myself or would this type of surprise be welcome.
  • What is considered high blood pressure for a 15 year old?

Heart Diseases - 1 day ago

    Additional Details

Mine is 140/83. If i wanted those answers, i'd just go to the doctor!! I just want opinions, to see if it's worth wasting 2 hours in a waiting room, and wasting so much of my doctors time! Thank you

  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer: More harm than good?

Infectious Diseases - 1 day ago

    Additional Details

My girlfriend says she was taught at "cooking school" that because it kills non-harmful skin flora along with the viruses and bacteria, hand sanitizer is in fact bad for you in that it decreases your skin's ability to repel the bad bugs. I think this sounds like BS, as it flies in the face of everything we've been hearing from the medical community for years. Anyone care to weigh in?

Survive spring allergies

Does spring have you sniffling and sneezing? Tips for easing the pain of seasonal allergies.

Survive spring allergies

Spring has sprung. Trees have burst into leaf, flowers are budding - and for millions of allergy-sufferers, sneezing, congestion, sniffling and itchy eyes have become a way of life.

The major culprits? In early spring, it's the wind-borne pollen from trees, and later on, grasses cause even more trouble. For most people, allergy symptoms are worst during hot, dry or windy days when there's a lot of pollen and mold in the air.

And while you might not be able to completely avoid allergy symptoms, you can take steps to ease the pain. Here are some tips from The Mayo Clinic.

Reduce your exposure to pollen

There are several ways you can reduce your exposure to allergy triggers:

-- Stay indoors on windy days. The best time to go outside is after a good rain, which helps to clear pollen from the air.

-- Delegate yard work, such as mowing the lawn, pulling weeds and other gardening chores. If you do work outside, wear a dust mask and avoid outdoor activity in the early morning when pollen counts are highest.

-- Keep the outdoors outside by closing your windows (including car windows). Remember that your window screens cannot protect you from microscopic pollen and mould spores. Allergens also have the annoying habit of sticking to clothing, so shower and change immediately after outdoor activities, and avoid drying sheets or clothes outside.

-- Ban your pets from your bed or couch since pollen clings to pet fur. (For more on pets, see Dodge the dander.)

-- When pollen counts are high, consider taking your allergy medication before symptoms start.

Keep indoor air clean

Here are some ways to help eliminate allergens from your home:

-- Use the air conditioner in your house (and car).

-- Install a micron allergy-grade filter in your ventilation system.

-- Use a dehumidifier to help keep indoor air dry.

-- Consider using a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter in your bedroom.

-- Clean floors with a vacuum cleaner that has a small-particle or HEPA filter.

And last but not least, don't skip the spring-cleaning! (See Bring spring to your home.) If you're allergic to dust mites, you may want to take these extra steps:

-- Encase mattresses, box springs and pillows in allergy-proof covers.

-- Wash sheets and blankets in water temperature of at least 130 F (54 C).

-- Vacuum floors frequently (at least weekly).

-- Consider replacing your carpets with laminate flooring or another hard material that won't collect dust mites and other allergens. (This is especially important for your bedroom).

Medications for relief of symptoms

A number of over-the-counter and prescription allergy medications can help control seasonal allergy symptoms, including:

Nasal corticosteroids. Corticosteroid nasal sprays are considered an effective medication for seasonal allergies and are often prescribed for more troublesome symptoms.

Antihistamines. Antihistamines help relieve itching, sneezing and runny nose for many allergy-suffers. (They are less effective for allergy-related congestion.)
