In the days leading up to prom, to avoid unwanted acne, you may want to steer clear of:
- Grease (skip on foods like pizza and french fries)
- Refined sugar (drinks like iced fraps and pop, and foods like white bread are packed)
- Trans fats (which are found in red meat, dairy products, and deep - fried goodies like donuts)
Instead, fill up on foods that are loaded with omega - 3 fatty acids, culinary herbs (such as ginger and tumeric), and fiber. All of these ingredients are shown to help promote clear and healthy skin.
In the hours leading up to prom, to avoid uncomfortable bloating, pass on:
- Salt (a.k.a. Sodium) (soy sauce is very high in sodium so try going sushi - free)
- Dairy foods (dairy is difficult to digest, so avoiding milk and cheese may be wise)
- Carbonated bevies (like pop and sparkling water)
And unfortunately, as healthy as they are, some veggies like broccoli and beans are major culprits of gas, which leads to bloat. If your tummy is starting to expand, try a cup of peppermint tea for some relief.
On prom day, try eating tons of fruit to obtain sugar - charged energy (remember, fruit is full of natural sugar, keep avoiding the refined stuff) and drink plenty of fluids to flush away toxins that may drag you down.
