Help Yourself

Acuball

From Sweetspot.ca

On our personal list of most often quoted Jerry Maguire lines, "Help me, help you" is right up there with "Show me the money."

When we began using the Acuball ($30) and its pint-sized partner, the Mini ($20), we immediately thought: If these balls could talk, this would be the dialogue they'd deliver. Invented by Canadian chiropractor Dr. Cohen, the round, knobby tools are designed to let the user help in their own healing process.

We simply positioned our vertebrae in the Spine Align Belt, and let our own body weight's pressure (plus the heat from a quick microwave) release our tight muscles and joints, from the back of our neck to the base of our spine. We even saved ourselves from poor-posture pain by leaning up against it in our office chair.

The Mini did wonders with a quick roll along the bottom of our feet, and we felt our shoulder knots under attack when we used it leaning on a wall. It was as simple as listening to our own body for cues on where the tight spots were.

The ease and effectiveness explains how the not-even-a-year old product is already in use by the Maple Leafs and the National Ballet, plus celebrities including Deepak Chopra, Sir Richard Branson and Bob Green.

But who cares about your famous friends? Acuball, you complete me.
