  • How can I be confident in myself?

Mental Health - 11 hours ago

    Additional Details

It's a pathetic question, I know. But, seriously. I have two younger brothers who are horrible to me. They will call me fat, talk about tampons, call me ugly, and stupid to my face. It's terrible, and it's really hurting me. Honestly, it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't do it where they do it. I'll be walking to the bus, and they will put down the window and yell in front of EVERYONE, "Hurry up fatty!" Or, "Run, bitch, run!" It's embarrising. How can I stop it form hurting me so much? I have come home crying the past two days, and I'm stuck. I don't know what to do. Please help me :(

  • Do I have the right to insist on starting treatment regardless of what the doctor wants?

    STDs - 12 hours ago

    Additional Details

I've got HIV and Hep C from idu, infected in 2006 diagnosed 2009. My CD4 count is 450 and T8 ratio is .33 unknown VL (they've continually screwed up the tests as results are time-limited and the nearest lab that can handle it is over an hour away) I want to start treatment on HAART immediately as from every study I've read & from talking to people I know who are similarly afflicted that guidelines are about to change at a CD4 count of 500 soon. I live in a rural, conservative area, and the specialist is no different, to her if the book says 350 then treatment should be withheld until it reaches that point,. Knowing how I feel physically and from symptoms that have begun to appear I think it's best to begin right away. Do I have the right to insist on treatment regardless of what she thinks?

  • To the girls who had eating disorders?

    Other - Diseases - 23 hours ago

    Additional Details

Soooo I used to have an eating disorder and i cant seem to get past the whole gaining weight issue. Before i had an eating disorder I was naturally skinny but i still thought i was fat. But now that i've recovered from bulimia nervosa I've gained a lot of weight in my eyes. so now i'm no longer skinny, I'm thin. And to those who have had eating disorders i bet you remember being complimented on being "thin" or "healthy" and considered that as being called fat. Anyway, how can i become more comfortable in my skin, although i still want to lose weight?? For me accepting my body the way it is, is hard......GAAAHHH its kind of annoying because i can look at other girls who are bigger than me and see the beauty in them but not in me....

For those of you who might feel full after eating only a small amount, don't go into panic mode after reading this article, which only mentions certaing types of cancer, all of which are much less likely than soooooo many other less ominous causes. For example (for the purpose of neutralizing), GERD. Which is VERY common.

Sure there is a problem with self-diagnosis, at the same time it's another matter when trying to convince your doctor. After all of the tests and prodding, the doctors says, "It will pass!" Three times I visited the ER and on the third visit the doctor said; "You've been here twice before and was told there is nothing wrong with you!" I had to get mad..."Listen doctor, do your damn job and stop relying on previous reports! Check for yourself and then, tell me that nothing is wrong!" If not, maybe you'd like to talk with my lawyer?" I was completely re-examined and ten hours later, I was informed that there did seem to be a problem with calcium in my kidneys. A blood sample was sent to the lab and the next day, I was informed that I had multi-myeloma (bone cancer). I was immediately admitted into the hospital and commenced chemo...six months later, I walked out of the hospital. My longevity went from 3-months to 24-months and, I'll still probably die from the cancer. The question I'm asking myself; would I have been completely cured if the original doctor had not jumped to the wrong conclusion by stating nothing was wrong with me? Its a waiting game for me and, I'm watching for the doctor to cross the street....(?) What hasn't been stated; Canadian Health Care is based on the availability of cash flow...If the hospital; has a limited budget then, thats too bad for the seriously ill patient. In my case, I had sufficient funds in my bank account to hire a lawyer and made the threat to sue. So, the focus of this article should also be on the doctor not to ignore the symptoms as stated by the patient!

i have all of the above, but have come to the conclusion if i were to live until i was 90 no one would be around in my family or friends that would give me any help. so it would be a blessing just to move on out while im still enjoying my life. if pain and suffering is in my future then perhaps its time i knew it. my grandfather was on his death bed when i was just a boy i cried and said Grandpop dont leave me. his words are still in my mind to this day." Mickey There aint none of us getting out of this alive"
