Pork Chops with St-Pierre de Saurel

1. Ingredients

  1. 4 boneless pork chops (butterfly cut)
  2. 2 McIntosh apples, peeled and sliced
  3. 8 thin slices Canadian St-Pierre de Saurel cheese
  4. 1 tbsp (15 mL) dried rosemary
  5. 1 clove garlic, minced
  6. Salt and fresh ground pepper
  7. 1/2 cup (125 mL) flour
  8. 2 eggs, beaten
  9. 1/4 cup (60 mL) milk
  10. Breadcrumbs
  11. 2 tbsp (30 mL) vegetable oil
  12. 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter

2. Cooking Directions

  1. Season pork chops with salt and pepper, sprinkle with rosemary and garlic. Arrange apple and cheese slices over them, fold in two and secure with tooth picks. Let stand in refrigerator 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Coat stuffed chops with flour, dip in egg beaten with milk and coat with breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil and butter in frying pan and brown chops 2 minutes on each side. Arrange in a baking dish or pan, cover and bake 15 to 20 minutes.

Yield: 4 servings

    Sides I am making are: •Creamy corn casserole •Cheesy vegetable casserole •Homemade mac and cheese •Loaded mashed potatoes Thank you:) The vegetable casserole has a few different colors when mixed- Green, orange, and white. The loaded mashed potatoes has large pieces of bacon and scallions on top. But I see what you mean.

    Here's the thing, each year our whole family gathers together and does different dishes for Thanksgiving. This year, I thought I'd give the little Turkey guy a try.
