Ham 'n' Swiss Croissants

1. Ingredients

  1. 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter
  2. 3 cups (750 mL) sliced mushrooms
  3. 3 tbsp (45 mL) sliced green onions
  4. 1 1/2 tbsp (25 mL) flour
  5. 3/4 cup (175 mL) milk
  6. Salt and Pepper
  7. 4 large croissants, halved
  8. 8 slices of ham
  9. 6 oz (170 g) Canadian Swiss cheese, sliced

2. Cooking Directions

  1. Melt butter in saucepan. Sauté mushrooms and onions until tender and mushroom liquid has evaporated. Blend in flour. Gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  2. On bottom half of each croissant layer 2 slices of ham, one quarter of the cheese and one quarter of the mushroom sauce; replace top croissant. Bake in 350 °F (180 °C) oven about 15 minutes or until heated through.

Yield: 4 servings

The loaded mashed potatoes has large pieces of bacon and scallions on top. But I see what you mean.

And lastly what effect would the self basting property of the turkey will it have on the end results? And since it is already basted should olive oil be used?     A little over a month ago, I allowed my uncle to borrow my car while he was in town for his homecoming. Today I found an opened factor box of Padrón Series 3000 Maduro cigars. They are still in their plastic sleeves, and as I have said, have been in my car for a little over a month. I live in Ohio, so I know humidity will be a problem for the cigars. What would be the best procedure to follow, without having to buy an expensive humidor I wouldn't plan on using again, to prepare these cigars to be smoke?
