Tangerine Supper Club is set to open officially sometime this month, but we know that the owners quietly opened the doors for the Christmas party season. (And used the time to work out the kinks.) There's no telling how much was spent to create this whopping club plinked into the basement of the Eaton Center but it was worth every penny.
Executive Chef Paul McGreevy devised a menu founded on a "food sharing concept" where most things come family style. The Mediterranean-influenced dishes use local produce, organic meats and fresh fish.
From the entrance (beside Holt Renfrew), a broad, metallic staircase leads you down into the Cubist-inspired lounge. The dark space is lined with inviting red velvet booths, fronted by giant solid wood tables and lit by overhead globe lamps and floor lights. We fell in love with the wall - made of white blocks that jut out at seemingly random angles. This place is worth visiting just to touch the textiles built into the design.
