Tricking and treating may be all about the kids, but this grown-up use for candy corn will give adults yet another reason to raid the little ones' goody bags. These martini-like cocktails use vodka infused with candy corn, which needs to be made at least three hours ahead.
Candy Corn Cordials
125 ml ( 1/2 cup) candy corn, plus extra for garnish
375 ml (1 1/2 cups) vodka
Ice
60 ml (2 oz) orange liqueur
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 large egg white
In a jar with an airtight lid, combine 125 ml ( 1/2 cup) candy corn and vodka. Cover and set aside for at least 3 hours. When ready, strain and discard solids.
To prepare drinks, in a cocktail shaker filled with ice combine 125 ml ( 1/2 cup) of the candy corn vodka, orange liqueur, lemon juice and egg white. Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds, then strain into 2 chilled martini glasses. Garnish with candy corn.
Makes 2 servings, plus extra infused vodka.
