October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
You are seeing this everywhere around your cities, I have no doubt. And, as much as it's easy to become desensitized to the plethora of ad campaigns put out by numerous companies vying for your attention, this pink October, you might actually want to take notice.
Skin care company Mama Mio will donate $1 of each sale of their fantastic bust and neck firming cream, aptly named Boob Tube, to breast cancer research. This rich formula for the décolletage is packed full of natural moisturizing ingredients CoQ10, which helps prevent collagen dehydration and helps to improve skin's elasticity. I've even used it on my face as a night cream, and the firmer, smoother skin results speak for itself.
Revlon is donating 10% of their Super Lustrous lipgloss in Pink Pursuit to Breast Cancer research.
The formula is ultra moisturizing and offers a sheer wash of sexy pink colour, which is always great to have in your purse, as this shade suits most skin types. Super bonus - there is an SPF 15 in the gloss!
The green Beaver Company, proudly Canadian, offers the 'For my sister' limited edition all natural deodorant, which was created to help support the founder's sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32. Today, 100% of the profits of each sale go to aid at The Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research as well as McGill University. The blend of ingredients fall in line with the 'natural living' way of life that the company is built upon. The aluminum free stick also contains aloe and chamomile which are fantastic for sensitive skin and irritation, which can occur due to radiation treatment.
This is not just a draw to try out a new products or spend your dough on some gimmicky merchandise. In the end, you are contributing to a very worthy cause that affects almost everyone of us, in some way or another. Perhaps a good way to get you thinking about this beyond a small donation here and there.
It might be the catalyst you need to join in next year's run.
