  • Is thin to extremely thick girdle on diamond an issue?

    Weddings - 4 hours ago

Hi, I am very interested in purchasing this diamond as i saw it in person, and liked the measurements on it. It makes it look alot bigger than an average 2.0 cushion. My concern is the girdle, table details. Do you thin to extremely thick will be a problem for this stone? Would you not recommend getting this diamond because of this? I am getting a pretty good price on it (10k) and would like an opinion. Overall, the stone looked good when i placed it in a vintage style setting it...but i am just an amateur. • should i talk to her in person or write her a letter? please help?

There's this girl who I really like and I'm pretty sure she likes me in the same way. However, I feel like things are going downhill because I haven't really expressed how much I like her. So I've decided to just tell her how I feel (and don't tell me not to, I've made up my mind). Since seeing her is getting harder and harder to do, I've thought about just writing her a letter so I wouldn't be waiting to see her one-on-one. So my question is, which would be better, in person or a letter? I'm a somewhat shy guy so I feel more confident about expressing how much I like her on paper, but not sure if it would be as powerful if I say her in person. Thanks to everyone who answers, I'll really appreciate it. Plus I'll give 10 points to best answer.

Worst pedicure ever!

WORST PEDICURE EVER.

Those were the thoughts hammering into my head as I hobbled across the street, back to my building this past Saturday. I decided to venture out for my first pedicure of the summer season. I was extra excited as it was my birthday party that night (one of many), and I had just purchased a pair of killer, open toed heels to sport with an unnecessarily short dress. But as time during the day seemed to be running out, as did the money in my wallet that day, I decided to take a chance on the unknown, down-the-street option.

I'd never been there and hadn't had a recommendation, and so, I suffered the consequences. Misshapen toe nails, poor cuticle work, little to no exfoliation and a BAD polish job. I'm the kind of girl who likes sheer beige and pink colours on my hands and feet. This was just a bad, bad, bad paint job. Gloppy, messy and all over not worth the $25 I was paying for this service. I decided, towards the end of the pedicure while the polish was being slopped on, that, for the first time ever in a situation like this, I would speak up and ask for an adjustment of the service to be made. I asked for only one coat of the colour. All I got back was a blank stare and slight annoyance from the pedicurist.

Final results - operation pedicure-fix was put into action at home. Re-shaped, re-exfoliated and re-polished. I doubt I'll ever go through that experience again as I think, for pedicures, it would be best to stick to recommendations and splurges to make sure my toes and feet look great, be it in 4 inch heels or flip flops.

I can't be the only one who has gone through this. Leave a comment to let me know what you've been through when it comes to a sporadic decision for a treatment or service, good or bad!

FYI - great preventative measure to avoid the numb toes and blisters that come from wearing the ridiculous shoes that us girls do: Dr. Scholl's For Her. The High Heel Insoles I wore to my party saved my feet from aching the next day. Best product from their line so far - the Rub Relief Strips. They come in a compact dispenser and they made sure that I didn't end up with any blister on my baby toes! The entire line has a problem solver for every issue you might face with your shoes.

I can top your story my friend! Worst. Pedicure. Ever. For me happened the same way, I didn't go to my usual place, because they take FOREVER, so I slid into this dodgy place nearby. The pedicurist seemed a little off her rocker to begin with, but I ignored the little voice in my head, the same one that Oprah always tells you to listen to. She let my feet soak for about 2 seconds, then, she started to rip and pull the cuticle right off my big toe! No cutting, snipping, trimming! FULL ON ripping!!! I started to bleed instantly, asked her to stop, she stuck my ripped off skin to my leg. I know, what the hell??? And then I had to ask for a bandaid, and the jerk owner had to go to the next door dentist to get it. I didn't speak after that, I got the hell out of there and went to get rubbing alcohol from the drugstore so I didn't end up with an infection. Now I just do my own feet!

"Now i just do my own feet" sounds like a great idea Jackie-oh -no! I went for my first and last pedicure to a pertty reptiable place and got a planters wart that took me years to get rid of so now I just do my own feet lol

Weird enough one of my better pedicures was from a salon within the Walmart superstore at Eglinton and Warden ... the lady was nice, not fake nice, but actually nice....go figure! So I recomend that place to people in the area ... but I hear you all on the bad pedis! I've had a 'foot'-full :O) Take care of the tootsies all!
