I really think that our personalities permeate everything we do! It might not be obvious because most of us run on autopilot, and we make a lot of our decisions without putting too much thought into them.
With that in mind, I wondered if there was such a thing as a beauty personality. To answer my question, I observed my friends and took close note of comments that readers left on my site. And I've concluded there is, in fact, such a thing.
I've broken them into four categories, and it would be fun for you to let me know which beauty personality suits you best.
Beauty Aficionado: For professional reasons, I find myself to be in this category. I really have no choice but to be fully aware of new makeup, skin care and beauty trends. I also spend most of my life (and this is not a complaint) trying and testing products in order to share my findings with readers. That said, I think that even if I was not a beauty editor, I most likely would still keep on top of all new beauty products on the market.
Beauty Diva: You are all about the latest trends and designer makeup and skin care lines. Just like your clothing, sunglasses and shoes, you only buy beauty products by name. You are most likely a regular at a luxury department store such as Holt Renfrew, and you also have booked 12 months worth of appointments with your aesthetician and cosmetic dermatologist. In fact, you would apply a full face even if you were just swinging by your local grocery store to pick a few missing items. You like looking perfectly polished at all time, and you make no excuses for it!
Beauty by Nature: This gal prefers to keep her skin care and makeup routine to a minimum. You know that soap will leave you looking far older than your age in time, so you've converted to using a gentle cleanser and water as your daily regime. You also use a light moisturizer to protect your skin, and given the climate conditions, you make a point of never leaving your home without SPF protection. Now that mineral makeup is the rage, you've started using it to even out your skin without looking like you're wearing makeup. On special occasions, you might top off the mineral makeup powder with a bit of mascara and a soft gloss, but not much more than that.
Beauty Activist: You know you are a beauty activist when you have started wearing makeup again now that so many brands are coming out with natural or alternative lines. You, no doubt, would never dream of buying conventional skin care, and you can be found at a natural health food shop or at Whole Foods Market stocking up on organic or natural brands. When you want to take a couture approach to your beauty regime, you indulge in Stella McCartney's C.A.R.E. organic skin care line.
So which beauty personality are you?
