Pastel eye colour
This season lighter colours like soft pinks, delicate beiges and lavenders are in for the eyes.
Step 1: Start by masking any imperfections. Go for a bit of liquid concealer under the eyes. Blend using your ring finger. The heat from your finger will warm the concealer, making it easy to blend.
Step 2: Next apply a touch of foundation to the eyelids. Use either a sponge or foundation brush to ensure even coverage.
Step 3: Start applying the colour with a round-tipped brush to the outer corner of the eye, working the colour up to the brow bone and inwards. Make sure the colour is evenly distributed. Using a fine tip brush, apply a thin layer of colour along the lower lashline.
Step 4: Finish off with two coats of the blackest black mascara. Be sure to lightly coat the bottom lashes, as well.
Barely there lip colour
Toasted pink hues have stated their claim as the ultimate go-to colour for lips this spring.
Step 1: Start by applying a bit of foundation to lips to tone down their naturally darker shade and to help the lip colour adhere better.
Step 2: Use a lip brush to apply the colours. Start at the center of the bottom lips and work colour outwards. Move on to the top lip, also starting the application in the centre. Be sure to carefully outline the contour of the lips with the brush.
A luminous glow
A fresh radiant complexion is spring's beauty calling card.
Step 1: The key to this season's radiant skin is healthy-looking skin. Excess oil or dry flakes are no-nos. Make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturize properly.
Step 2: Apply your foundation or tinted moisturizer as you normally would. Brush on a hint of the highlighter to your cheekbones, bridge of your nose and chin. For powder highlighters, use an oversized blush brush and apply the highlighter using outward strokes. For cream highlighters, use your fingertips and blend in an upward and outward circular motion.
TIP: For an all-over dewy effect, mix a drop of liquid highlighter into your foundation or moisturizer.
Dark nails
Once again dark shades from indigo to black to the deepest purples are the hottest nail colours.
Step 1: : Keep nails short and clean. Make sure they are trimmed to just beyond the end of the finger and the tips are rounded.
Step 2: Don't skip the base coat. A crucial step to making the goth-inspired mani last.
Step 3: Apply two coats of the dark lacquer. Make sure to remove the polish from your skin with a cotton swab.
Step 4: Don't call it a night without the top coat. It adds shine and protects the colour from chipping.
