Spring makeup is all about colour, so for lips, eyes, cheeks and nails, let's dish on what we can't resist:

For lips, I love sheer glosses and lipsticks that look bold, but actually go on almost transparently with the prettiest, barely there tint of colour. Clinique has a great one, aptly called Butter Shine Lipstick. It's emollient and super-sheer and comes in wearable colours such as Fresh Watermelon, a sexy pinky-red shade.

For weekends, I can't get by without my Lancôme Juicy Tubes lip glosses. Besides their delicious, almost-edible flavours, they come in flattering almost-bare shades that are shiny, but not icky-sticky. My pick is Fifth Avenue Frosting, a pretty rose gloss that's casual, but also bare enough to be worn with a sexy made-up eye for evening.

I guess I'm in touch with my inner Boca Raton retiree, because I can't help myself around coral-coloured lipstick. This spring, my lips will be drenched in Sephora's Lip Attitude in Glamour. It has a beautiful creamy texture and sheer finish. Personally, I prefer lipsticks to glosses for colour, but if you want a just-better-than-natural look, I love Maybelline New York ShineSeduction Gloss in Apricot Aura.

Corals look best when set against bronze skin. So try a creamy liquid bronzer like Estée Lauder's new Bronze Goddess. Apply only to the areas of your face where you tan, and slather some on your shoulders or décolletage if you're wearing something skimpy.

How about eye makeup? Forget the cakey blue shadow that our mothers and aunties wore. Today's blue and green eyeshadows are terrific because they're so sheer. Where int he past, you'd get big chunks of glitter, now you have a delicate veil of iridescence because the pigments are so fine.

My choice for eye shadow this spring is Lancôme's L.U.C.I eye shadow in Ray of Purple Light. L.U.C.I. shadows boast technology that interacts with light so you get a depth and intensity that isn't heavy. But remember, even if the new shadows are sheer, make sure you go soft and neutral with the other makeup on your face when you do choose to work those baby blues.

And for you, Tiyana, you brown-eyed girl, what's your favourite eye shadow for spring?

I love the soft lilacs in Chanel's 4 Fleurs de Chanel. The quad packs an array of subtle pastels that can be mixed together or worn alone. I love the soft pink and purple together for day. But again, if you're playing with colour, keep it to one part of the face. A bright lipstick or gloss paired with pastel shadow is a bit too Joan Cusak in Working Girl.

For a bolder look, try MAC's Pigment Colour Powder in Violet. Beware, the highly packed pigment should be used sparingly for best results. Experiment a little and see what works for you.

For blush, my choice is cream blush. I absolutely love the new, creamy stick colours such as Shiseido's The Makeup Accentuating Stick, or the tried-and-true cheek colour Orgasm from Nars.
