  • My boyfriend smells really badly, and he just won't take the hint? Even when I tell him flat out?

    Singles & Dating - 5 hours ago

    Additional Details

My boyfriend and I are both 21, and have been dating for 3 years. Recently, he has smelling really badly whenever I am around him. I ask him if he showers, brushes his teeth, etc..because I cannot for the life of me understand what is making him smell so bad. Recently, I was at his house, and I saw that he throws his laundry all over the place, doesn't wash his bed sheets, his house smelled musky and moldy, like he had mold. He told me" I shower twice a day, and wash my hair one of those times each day". Well, the smell isn't his hair, trust me. And sometimes he has even told me he forgets to brush his teeth for a couple of days! He is 21, he should not be acting like a 5 year old! And plus, he is over weight, and that being said, sweats more and seems to stink more. I ask him politely to put on more deodarant or shower again, and he says " I already put it on once today, and that's it im going to put it on". I don't know what to do with him. I love him, but it's never been as bad as this. I don't want to have a boyfriend that I have to go over and clean and wash his clothes, his bedsheets, remind him to wash right, or brush his teeth! I have tried sitting down talking to him, but he seems to just not care!! Should I just take this as a bad sign and just leave him??

The woman on page 194

POST A COMMENT »
Model(Glamour Magazine)We normally associate the September issue of any fashion magazine with pages upon pages of stick-thin models parading around in the latest haute couture.

What we wouldn't expect to see is a normal-looking woman sitting naked and exposing, nay, even showing off, a normal-looking belly!

Well, Glamour Magazine showcased just such a girl-next-door on page 194 of their September issue and the response has been nothing less than glowing. The woman is 20-year-old model Lizzi Miller who at a size 12 is considered plus sized by fashion industry standards.

From someone who doesn't sport rock hard abs, (to quote Eric Bana from a recent interview, 'Abs are for people with no friends.') it's quite refreshing to see a woman with a normal body gracing the glossy pages of a fashion mag.

That's not to say there's anything wrong with having rock hard abs (and hey, if you got it flaunt it) but it's just nice to a see a variety of female body types represented in the media. And more importantly, it's nice to see a healthy body weight put forward - one that is neither seriously over nor under weight.

It's a small step, and it's taken the industry a long time to start recognizing a variety of female body types, but it is refreshing to see a gradual change in our perception and representation of the female form.

Do you feel comfortable with your body? Would you ever pose like this for a magazine?

It's about bloody time! Make no mistake...this a male e-mailing you. You know...one of those "blinded by the light of fashion's dictates"...lemming-like creatures...who just stumbles along stupidly accepting whatever high fashion magazines like Vogue...and psuedo-intellectual skin mags like Playboy tell him is "beautiful". This woman is gorgeous. Now...if Glamour can just do the same thing again... but this time include an African-American woman....an Asian-American woman....a Native-American woman etc....etc. It's time for Western society...and not just the men... to grow-up and see the various kinds of beauty that's all around. Here's hoping this article helps push us past our state of arrested development when it comes to what is considered "beautiful".

Sorry - this is NOT a "plus size" woman. It is nice to see that she isn't stick thin but...a tiny little belly like that does not make her "plus size"!

Wow, great! I will be buying the mag to support this bold move. Kudos to the model for having such confidence and to Glamour for being the forerunner of such an important shift in the media's portrayal of beauty. Hopefully they get more regular-sized women on their pages - not necessarily all plus-sized, as there are a lot of naturally thin women too, but a more realistic mix of body shapes would be great.

Its great that Glamour put a "plus" size lady in the mag, howeverI feel the real break thru will be when fashion designers etc figure out that a large magority of women wear clothes bigger then a size 12, it makes me laugh to read that size 12 is considered plus size. Admittingly at size 5x/44 I am overweight and it would not be a pretty sight to have me in a mag, but what about the AVERAGE women who is size 12, 14,16.

This woman is NOT a healthy body type and her physique should NOT be applauded. While the ultra-thin are not healthy stereotypes, this woman is fat and grossly out of shape. A lean diet and exercise is essential for good health. She looks like she has never exercised in her life and needs some discipline and a sense of body responsibility. She's only 20 and looks like most of the other 20 yr olds out there, unhealthy, lazy and FAT!

whats sad is size 12 is considered plus. Congrats to Glamour for stepping up to the plate...There are so many beautiful women out there and just becasuse they have a little junk in the trunk or the "muffin top" they shouldn't be considered a different species. I myself am a size 16, 33 and happy. Yes, i would like to loose some extra pounds, but only to feel better for myself, to continue to be active, to show my kids that this is a way to live a happy and healthy life. I am not looking through magazines and wishing to have this done and that done and tuck here and enlarge there. These young ladies who look through the magazines and become depressed, obsessed, and overwhelmed on what is "acceptable" really need that true role model in the "magazine" world. To show them its not all size "zeros" and high fashion...its acceptable to be you...You should be happy to have what you have. Feel confident that people who are truly your friends like you cause of who you are not cause of what you look like. So to all those Plus 12 ladies...cheers....continue to live a healthy life and be a role model for the real world.

Can't believe anyone is applauding this fat woman's physique. She's 20 and lazy with a poor diet and it shows. Let's NOT send a message to the young that being FAT is healthy, it isn't, it's just FAT. FAT is FAT. How about a healthy size woman who works out?

Excuse me, but "Spiffy 100" and "..." I believe that your opinions on this matter are ignorant and snobby. This woman in this picture is beautiful just the way she is. She is NOT fat. Not at all. It is about time that the world is finally realizing that you have to be anorexic or have abs, or a sculpted butt to look beautiful. Because you don't. This woman is not fat, nor is she chubby or anything. And it is because of people like you two, that make people that are not stick thin feel like they are half a ton! I believe that you should re think your priorities and take your arrogant opinions and shove them up your tightly wound up asses. Because it doesn't matter what your weight, eye color, or height is. It is what is inside your heart that makes you a good person. So take that and leave the world alone.

Jeez, she is far from fat - she is just not perfectly toned, what is wrong with some of you? If this is FAT then we are on the right road. I see some people tootin their own horn (or the horn of their "Greek Goddess" wife) yeah whatever makes you happy. However, as some TV commentator pointed out on one show that yes people are applauding the mag for showing her, but supposedly (I havent seen it) it is next to an article about body image, which would make sense for it to be there. He also goes on and says how people are so happy about this, but that if this were common standard people would not buy the mag. Many, more then many of the majority of people want glamour and beauty and the impossible, which is why celebs are so popular, it is not their voice or acting skills that sells their goods. Airbrush is what people seem to want despite claiming to want the opposite. When Britney Spears performed at some awards as a "comeback" a few years ago people called her fat and pig and gross blah blah.... maybe I missed something, WAS THAT FAT? When celebs are "perfect" we complain and when they are shown as average we still complain. Anyone ever seen pics of Marilyn Monroe when she was heavier? This "what is the world coming to" lamenting is bull. Granted a size 12 back then is close to our size 5-6 today, but 1950s celebs were not all the skinny models of the post 1960s world. Put some clothes on that girl and you naysayers would say how beautiful she is. That "fat" is not visible with clothes covering it. All you complaining about "young people today" should take a flip through your old year book, because I guarantee you that not every single kid was perfect like you have made yourself believe. Stop blaming a whole generation for your own insecurities about getting older. Kudos to those who appreciate different body types and the rest of you can go f-off

I think it's a wow ,she is not skin and bones and a little tummy is not being over weight , people should relize that we do come in diffrent sizes and not super small, most average women are 12,13 and 14 , people should try to open there eyes, she is perfect. And we all should try to look at things a little diffrent.

i am so tired of everyone hating on people who are normal. whether they be on the bigger side or the smaller side of normal. everyone has their body type preference, and is entitled to it. but, seriously. do we have to judge this girl for a little belly fat. isn't that the place where it is naturally hardest for women to lose fat? and to all you haters, where is your naked picture in glamour magazine. or where is your picture on this website if you are so proud of your body (yeah, i am talking to you spiffy 100) i work out 5 days a week, and i am a size 10. there is nothing wrong with being bigger. just as there is nothing wrong with being smaller. i think that if we are going to get past stereotypes of what is beautiful, we really need to move forward with our thinking. how about just accepting that their are all different body types, for men and for women. no one will ever fit into one perfect ideal of what beauty is. i am proud to say that my husband likes my size ten frame just fine. and if you don't like bigger gals or guys, may i suggest that you just look the other way. or look in the mirror in some cases. everyone has something beautiful about them, and all we do is focus on the negative. i hope that other people out there can have as much courage as this girl does, and find the beauty within themselves. way to go lizzi! you are perfect the way you are.

Except for the belly she's fine, but I look at that and say, "It looks like she had a kid and hasn't bothered to do her Kegels to tighten back up. She isn't interested in anything I'd be interested in."

Glamor magazine is to be congratulated for this bold move, but it's only a first step in the process of humanizing women in the world of fashion. When I think of Plus-Size, I think of Jordin Sparks, beautiful former Idol winner, who I think has her own designer clothing line. I have a problem seeing Size 12 as Plus, but I guess that's the fashion industry's way of looking at it.

Put Twiggi as one extreme and Kristi Alley as the other extreme and everything in between is not beautiful! Loose hanging skin on a skeleton is anything but attractive; however, folds of loose gelatinous flesh covering an untoned body is no more appealing. Just because you're female and alive doesn't mean you are automatically beautiful. People who want to be called beautiful have to realize that physical beauty (in adults) requires a huge commitment to working out regularly and eating only what the engine requires. Most of the women that I've met that want to call all female bodies, except the thin or petite, beautiful are women that are not in good physical condition, don't eat practical diets, and get no more exercise than is absolutely required to get through their day. If that chocolate cake is more important to you than a firm, trim, well conditioned body, then go for it! Eat it and put on a few more pounds, someone might still tell you "you are beautiful", but you know the truth, it ain't so! Beauty will always be beauty, and those that really want it will do what ever they have to, to have it. Have a great day!
