Turned out my sister's husband hadn't kept his promise to my sister that to erase it, even though that was one of her conditions in agreeing to make it. Bad hubby.
But the thing is, my sister is not a beauty queen (oh, she's a beauty, just not of the pageant variety) or a celebrity or an ex-reality start trying to keep their name in the headlines.
I'm getting a little bored with all these 'leaked' sex tapes (most recently former Miss California Carrie Prejean and now a couple of otherwise-unheard-of 2008 Miss Universe contestants). I mean, in this day and age, when you can snap a shot of yourself naked with your cell phone and send it to your honey all with a few clicks of a cell phone, are we really surprised that people tape themselves having sex or looking sexy?
Especially if you're young, hot, beautiful and trying to make a name for yourself. I don't think it's all that much of a coincidence these tapes get 'leaked.' I know some of these girls may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer but surely, in the age of YouTube (and now YouTube Direct), Facebook, Twitter, sexting, iPhones and umpteen other instant recording, distributing and networking mediums, you know that if you're going to get naked for a camera, and you've made any kind of name for yourself, someone's going to 'leak' the footage. And if you've not been so successful making a name for yourself, why you may just 'leak' the thing yourself to score yourself some headline ink.
In these days of reality shows and Google Street View when you practically get video recorders in your cereal box, every single facet of our lives is being recorded. Why would sex, an act that's been recorded since man figured out how to scrape an image in a cave wall, be any exception?
If you're titillated by the idea of seeing people you barely know in intimate acts, hey, that's entirely your business. But let's stop pretending we're scandalized or that it's news when we discover some new semi-starlet has literally been caught with her pants down.
