  • Is he flirting with me or just being friendly?

I am friends with this guy that I've hung out with 4 or 5 times. I have a crush on him and it seems like he is always flirting with me. The first time I met him it was cold and he put his arms around me and warmed me up. It seems like every time I see him he hugs me, lays on me ( jokingly), calls me his lover, etc. He gave me his number (but didnt ask for mine) and I texted him so he would have my number. We had a short conversation, only 8 or 9 texts long. I didnt hear from him for about 3 days, and then he texted me last night saying "hey cutie". We had a good 30 minute conversation, and then he just stopped replying. So, does it seem like he is flirting or looking for something more?

Its been 2 1/2 years since i last ttalked to my mother. she met my daughter once and has never seen my son. i want very much for her to be in my life but i am finding it hard to forgive her for kicking me out of the house at 18 and calling my husband the devil. she's tried to buy me back but she wants nothing to do with me as long as i'm with my husband. she's never really been there for me as long as i can remember but she is still my mom and the only parent i have left. i truly love her but i don't know how to forgive her for the horros and disappointments she's caused me to have through my life.

  • Were not dating and he sent me a text that said I miss you?

    Singles & Dating - 6 hours ago

He asked did I miss him too.. I told him the truth, which was no I did not. So why is he so mad? I mean I like talking to him and everything, and it's not that I meant it too be rude but I talk to him everyday so what's there to miss? I know this sounds really harsh, but I can't help the fact that I'm really blunt. My honesty is often misconstrued as being mean. Similar incidents have often happened with this person before so how am I supposed to talk to him? It's like he wants me to tell him what he wants to here (lies). If that's the case sorry. Not having it.

When Will Baby Learn to Entertain Herself?

It was a lot easier to keep my baby entertained when she was happy being carried around in the baby sling.

By Ann Douglas

Q: It was a lot easier to keep my baby entertained when she was happy being carried around in the baby sling. Now that she wants to be on the floor playing, she's constantly relying on me to keep her entertained. The thing is I really don't know what to do with an eight-month-old baby. And if I don't play with her all the time, she gets really whiney. When will she start entertaining herself?

A: Most parents find that they continue to be their baby's "favorite toy" well into the toddler years. It's part of the job description of being someone's mom or dad. But you'll probably find that your baby becomes able to entertain herself for little bursts of time—say for five to ten minutes or so—as she begins to master new skills like crawling, standing, and walking.

Until then, she's likely to be highly reliant on you for entertainment because she'll want you to intervene if a toy that she's playing with gets stuck somewhere and she needs help retrieving it. Besides you're so much more fun to her than her toys. At this stage of her development, she doesn't have a particularly long attention span, so you provide the continuity in her play as she moves from one activity to another.

If you've played pat-a-cake and peek-a-boo ten million times, and you've sung every nursery rhyme song you can remember from your own childhood, you're no doubt ready for some new ideas. You may want to try

  • -looking at picture books together (tip: create a photo album featuring photos of people, places, and objects that will be familiar to your baby)
  • -dancing to music, something that can be a great workout and stress-buster for you and great fun for baby (tip: make a playlist of your favorite "baby dance tunes")
  • -getting together with some of the other moms and babies from prenatal class, baby gym, or playgroup. It's always fun to hang out with other moms who have babies around the same age.
