Bonus: Georgina Chapman and Harvey Weinstein's Very Fashionable Affair
With a fashion empire under her belt one might expect the nuptials of Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman to have run like clockwork; but that wasn't the case at all. Chapman married movie mogul Harvey Weinstein at his waterfront Connecticut estate in December of 2007 - and, with the bride's dress coming under even bigger scrutiny than usual, there was almost a catastrophe: when the specially designed gown was sent to India for hand-beading, it came back brown (!)
Four days before the nuptials, the bride (who was also suffering from the flu) was washing and bleaching it - and praying. The star-studded crowd – which included J.Lo, Cameron Diaz, Renee Zellweger, Eva Mendes, Anne Hathaway, Anna Wintour and supermodels Karolina Kurkova, Natalia Vodianova and Helena Christensen – were, however, none the wiser and it was considered one of the most glamorous weddings of the year.
