Wildflower Baby Book

And, speaking of pressed wildflowers, you can also use them to make a homemade baby book for your “budding” naturalist. Simply trim pieces of cardboard so that they fit snugly inside some empty zipper-style freezer bags. Glue wildflowers to the cardboard and then slip the pieces of cardboard inside the freezer bags. Tape the bags together using clear shipping tape and you’ll have a sturdy wildflower book for your baby or toddler to enjoy.

Nature Mobile

Twigs, pinecones, acorns, and other items found on the forest floor can be transformed into an eye-catching mobile. Simply bend a wire coat-hanger into the desired shape and hang the objects you’ve collected from the coat-hanger using bits of ribbon or string. Or, if you prefer a more natural look, hang the objects from a large stick.

Instant Birdfeeder

Does your toddler have a limited attention span? Here’s an impressive craft that can be made in 30 seconds or less. Simply coat a large pinecone with peanut butter or margarine and roll it in birdseed. Tie a piece of string around the pinecone and hang it in your backyard. It won’t be long before the birds start flocking to it.
