Dear Josey,
Every time I meet a new girl, I fall in love. My female friends are all old-time crushes and call me a flirt. When I ask why they won’t go out with me, they give different reasons. One is too busy to go out with me, another found a steady boyfriend as soon as I came along (she hadn’t had a boyfriend in months!), and the other’s gay. But they are my friends so they’ve tried to introduce me to other friends of theirs. I fall in love with all of them, for different reasons. The one I really fell for in particular was a virgin! Man, did that turn me on! Then she lost it to this jerk that is now her boyfriend. How come I’m not the one getting any?
Constantly Crushed
Dear Constantly,
It smarts when the other guy gets the virgin, doesn’t it? Why aren’t you getting any? Well, to be honest, I think it might be because you sound more like a lech than a flirt. In fact, I’m not entirely sure why your friends are even introducing you to their friends. Maybe to get you off their backs? I’m sure you’re a nice enough guy who clearly has a great appreciation of women. And flirting with someone can be flattering. But flirting with every thing that moves is more like trawling -- you throw out the net and see what you haul in. It hardly makes a gal feel special. While it’s obvious you are a big fan of the female species, I think you need to spend a little time working on your fishing technique. Maybe you could start by judging women based on their personalities rather than their maidenhead status.
