TEENFLARE.COM: How did you learn to work the camera so well?
TAYLOR: In a photo shoot, for many people, the hardest thing is that there are 50 people standing around staring at you. But for me, I love that. I think that with being a performer and loving to perform, the same goes for being in front of a camera. In a sense being in front of the camera is part of the performance. I think photo shoots are really fun, because you get to try on different clothes and be a different person for a few minutes.
TEENFLARE.COM: What are the moments in your career have really helped to boast your confidence?
TAYLOR: The performance I'm most proud at would have to be at the ACM awards last year. I started singing "Should Have Said No" and there was a mid-stage costume change and then I went to the back of the stage and I stood under this huge waterfall of rain and sung underneath this downpour of rain in the middle of the awards show and got soaking wet in front of everybody! It was so much fun and I had a standing ovation at the ACMs, which was something I never expected to happen to me.
TEENFLARE.COM: What's your favorite thing to do in the summer?
TAYLOR: I live on a lake so we love to go out on the lake. I have a surfboard in the garage and I would get the surfboard and carry it all the way down the hill and we would swim on the lake, sit on surfboards in the middle of the lake and then just talk, hang out and laugh.
TEENFLARE.COM: Who is your favourite actress?
TAYLOR: Emma Stone is one of my really good friends and every single time I see her act, it's like the funniest thing in the world. She does comedy better than any other actress I've seen in a really long time.
TEENFLARE.COM: How about your favourite dsigner?
TAYLOR: My favorite designer right now is Kaufman Franco. I love those dresses they make over there, they are so different and they are never just one [style]-I've seen dresses by them that are the complete opposite of other dresses that I've worn by them. It's really cool that they make such a wide range of things.
TEENFLARE.COM: What inspired you to write the song "White Horse"?
TAYLOR: Honestly the song is an anti-love story. It's about the same guy I wrote "Love Story" for, so "Love Story" is about the beginning of that non-relationship and "White Horse" was written at the end of it. The lyrics aren't literal-it's not like "I'm not a princess, this isn't a fairytale", it's more like-how stupid were you to think that you might actually get your happy ending and how naive of you to think that this might actually work out.
Stephen Coletti is in the video and I thought that he did a really great job. He's done some work on One Tree Hill and he has a look about him that [makes you think that] he wouldn't be the kind of guy to be such an obvious heartbreaker, and that's what we were looking for.
