  • dad died grandmother says life insurance was drained by funeral costs?

    Family - 8 hours ago

    Additional Details

my father died. I am his only kid Im 27. my grandmother took a life insurance policy out on my father. I was never told the details. The arrangements was no funeral parlor 2 days after he died we went to the family church and had mass then went straight to the cemetery. I am unsure of how to find out if I was lied to. or if my grandmother was the one to end up with what ever the life insurance paid off. I have heard that she may have been the primary beneficiary as long as she survived his dying. and I would then be the secondary, only being beneficiary if my grandmother was deceased when he died. can someone put this in perspective for me please?

So I really like this guy. I think he likes me. He asked me out and I said no and I dont even know why. He asked me especially to come to his party and I said I was going but I never turned up and never told him and my friends told me he spent the whole night asking where I was. I heard he was interested in some other girl so I was really mean to this girl so she would stay away. I keep messing him around like this and I dont mean to be so cruel, but I dont know whats wrong with me. I like him so much that I cant seem to leave him alone. Am I insane?

Tips for dealing with touchy financial situations

Solution: Never be disingenuous with a good friend - if you're hurt, you should try and talk it out. Hidden resentment is a friendship killer and this could be an opportunity to get it out and move on. That being said, you could sidestep the issue and do what others recommend when it comes to dealing with multiple sponsorship requests: Explain that you have already donated to the charity of your choice and wish your friend well! If you're the one asking for money be prepared to hear "no" - people have less money now than ever. Try not to get offended.

People nowadays get offended too easily, everyone's trying to be politically correct . Asking someone about how much money they earn or how much their house costs or how much they weigh is not a big deal. We need more people that don't want to be politically correct, who just want to be themselves. If someone doesn't like the question you asked, too bad.

Money has always been a taboo topic but with the economy and everyone feeling vulnerable, perhaps there is more room for honesty. I have a problem with people expecting rides. I am a single mom and my car is my one luxury. In fact I may have to get another job to pay for my car. I find that other people feel entitled to expect rides from me while boasting while I am driving them that they don't own a house or a car that all they have to do is pay for their rent and take exotic trips. For many, many years I never owned a car and I never asked or expected anyone to provide me with rides. I made my own way or paid for a taxi. I am a quiet person and would prefer not to chauffeur passengers but I feel like I am not being a good person by not providing the ride. The other thing I am thinking of doing is asking the passengers to make a small donation equivalent to what they would have paid on public transport, so that I can forward this amount of money to a charity. What do you think?
